Back to School

My daughter starts second grade at a new school on Monday. She's excited but understandably nervous. We went back to school shopping and are now ready for the new school year. Wish us luck.

Lonely in the Lone Star State

Brinkmann Ranch: One of my favorites sites in Frisco

We have recently moved to a new city. This new "hood" is unlike any place I've ever lived before. The people are very polite and say "y'all" often enough for us to have lost count. It's in a part of town where the Ikea and real cattle ranches coexist. Here, my children can walk to school and everything I need is only eight minutes away.  I live on a street filled with rabbits, squirrels and polite second grade boys who don't wear helmets when they do tricks on their bikes. All three of these make me nervous.

Did I mention it's in Texas?

That's right, we no longer live in the desert. We moved at the beginning of the summer. So far, the Lone Star state has been kind but we miss our our old home state. I'm looking forward to the start of the school year, finding a job and making some friends.

I plan to post on how things progress. So Y'all come back now, ya hear?

It's been quiet around these parts...

My bambinos have been sick since Sunday. I thought they were ok by Tuesday so I took Morgan to school on Wednesday. When I went to pick her up she was a sad sight. The doctor said it was only a cold, which is a relief. They've been sleeping a lot and at first it was nice. I liked the reprieve but now I'm over it and want them to be well again. I miss the chaos. Hopefully all will be better by tomorrow.

LUCAAASSSS!!!

Apparently this happens all the time when I'm at work.

Love is in the air

It is Valentine's week and we're really excited. We have all sorts of activities planned.

Morgan has been diligently working on her Valentine's this week. I was really impressed with how hard she worked on them. We got the idea here. I thought I was going to do most of the work but Morgan held her own. I helped her cut the butterflies out and making the slits for the lollipops but the rest was all her. Below are some pictures to prove it.

I can't wait to see her hand them out on Friday!!

The finished products are awesome.
